Who We Are
About Us
Racine Firefighter Local 321 is comprised of 130 members from the City of Racine and Burlington, WI Fire Departments. We have a long tradition of service and are deeply committed to the communities we serve. As one of the oldest established unions in the area, we proudly fight for our Union Brothers and Sisters and provide essential services in the community.
Meetings for our members are held every second Wednesday and Thursday of the month at the Union Hall at 1840 Sycamore Ave, Racine, WI 53406. Meetings begin at 7 pm, however, we encourage members to arrive earlier and socialize. Doors are open around 6:30 pm and are found on the south side of the building. Most meetings last between 1-1.5 hours, and are the best place to bring your concerns, talk with other members, and, most importantly, come together in general.

I'm Michael Nikolai, and I'm proud to serve as the Secretary/Treasurer for Racine Firefighters L-321. I was born and raised in the City of Racine. I've been a part of the Racine Fire Department since April 2013, following in the footsteps of my father. Being a firefighter runs in my blood, and I couldn't imagine a more fulfilling career.
In March of 2020, I was honored to be elected to the executive board, a role that allows me to contribute even more to our incredible Union. Then, in April 2023, I took on the position of Secretary/Treasurer, where I handle important administrative tasks and manage the financial aspects of our organization. It's an opportunity I don't take lightly, and I'm dedicated to serving my fellow firefighters and our community with passion and integrity.
When I'm not at the firehouse, I'm a proud family man. I've been happily married to my lovely wife since 2012. Together, we're raising two amazing children who bring so much joy to our lives. Our son born in 2014, is growing up to be a curious and adventurous young man. And our daughter, born in 2020, has already stolen our hearts with her infectious laughter.
Being a firefighter is more than just a job for me—it's a calling. I'm honored to serve alongside my fellow brother and sisters of Racine L-321, and I'm grateful for the support of my family every step of the way. Together, we're making a difference in the lives of our community members, and I couldn't be prouder to be a part of the Racine Firefighters L-321 Executive Board.
Stay safe, everyone, and remember, I'm always here to help!

I have been on the Executive Board since 2013 and currently hold the rank of Lieutenant out of Station 6 "B"-Shift. I was hired by Racine Fire in 2008 and I have loved every minute of it. I followed my fathers foot steps as he was a firefighter with City of Milwaukee for 30 years. I have 3 children and an amazing wife which are my world. I enjoy helping out citizens in the community as well as working with members and staff on issues. I'll bring a positive attitude and work towards the common goal of moving the department forward.
